Abstract

Research demonstrates the importance of survey data to various stakeholders. For university administrators and faculty, student graduation/exit surveys provide valuable information of the students’ perceptions of their time at the institution. However, response rates are generally low. This project’s objectives included 1) identifying various stakeholder groups from the UTA Exit Survey data, 2) describing why surveys are important to specific stakeholders, and 3) identifying methods that can be used to increase survey meaningfulness to the student population (e.g., increase response rates). Students identified specific methods to increase response rates such as: increased advertising, providing incentives, professor involvement, a community hashtag, and transparency regarding changes implemented based on survey responses.

Keywords: survey analysis, stakeholder engagement, student responses
