Abstract
After the development of a psychiatric nursing internship with the Texas Center for Proton Therapy, I found myself asking; “Do all patients have this adequate psychiatric nursing staffing”? My research aimed to address how psychiatric nursing staffing effected the overall cost, quality, and care a patient received. The connections between these three variables will shed light on how best to staff hospitals in a manner that is cost effective without hindering the quality of patient care.
